The Raption 50 has four individual power packs delivering 12.5kW each. If one power pack fails, the unit will continue charging EVs at a lower output by drawing power from the functioning packs. Raption 50 completes an 80% charge in 30 minutes with simultaneous charging for two EVs at 50kW DC and 43kW AC. It is comparatively smaller and slimmer than its previous models and has three charging cables that cater for every EV/PHEV model. Justin Meyer, general manager of eVolt UK, said: “While eVolt’s Rapid units have always proved highly dependable, modular power technology makes them even more reliable by reducing the potential for down-time. The new Raption 50 has been designed with input from our clients. This is one of the ways we make sure our chargers meet their needs.” Justin added, “The Raption can be scaled down should a local power network not be capable of Rapid charging or if a user only needs to draw 25kW of power. At the same time the opposite can happen, and we can scale the chargers back up to deliver more power.” Raption 50 also has an ultra-fast 20cm touchscreen that has multiple language options; an inbuilt downlight for better visibility at night; and fully-secure charging connector holsters that can only be unlocked from the charging station with a verified RFID card, reducing damage to the equipment through improper use or vandalism. ISTOBAL reduces hydrocarbons in car wash wastewater With the hydrocarbon separator, ISTOBAL has managed to retain hydrocarbons in the vehicles’ fuel and engines, preventing them from contaminating the water used in the wash process. With this equipment, water can also be reused in subsequent car wash services. ISTOBAL has underlined the importance of avoiding the use or discharge of untreated water in washing processes, as one litre of oil pollutes 1,000 m3 of water (the equivalent of an Olympic swimming pool) or m2 of land (a football pitch). ISTOBAL’s hydrocarbon separator conforms to European standard EN 858, DIN 1999 Class I. Available on all its car wash machines, this technology ensures effluents under 5 ppm, not only complying with European standards on water disposal in public sewage, but also surpassing the set elimination levels. A pioneer in developing technologies that reduce water and energy consumption. In their commitment to the environment, the company has reduced water consumption in commercial vehicle wash machines by 45% by increasing water pressure during the most critical wash phase, consumption-wise. erpecnews is published by McLean Events, Conferences and Media Ltd. 15
