Attendees learn about the latest
innovations from Dover Fueling Solutions.

previous version, the remote video camera
allows underground storage tank (UST)
owners to identify potential issues inside
of tanks, including structural or lining problems,
cracking, blistering, delamination or
corrosion - but now in high definition. The
camera is able to enter the tank through a
single opening, great for site operators, but
a black mark in the Canon box.
We were also given another run for our
money in the video stakes by the Finnish
collaborative of Finnpos Systems Oy, Labkotec
Oy, U-Cont Oy Ltd and Tammerneon
Oy, who decided to promote their involvement
at UNITI with a creative film following
their journey to the exhibition. Visit the video
section of erpecnewslive.com or search
UnitedUNITI on YouTube to see what they
got up to - it’s not to be missed!
Alternative fuels were also high on the
agenda at UNITI expo 2018. The exhibition
featured a dedicated alternative fuels section
and the International Forum hosted a
range of talks on alternative fuels and the
Bever Innovations’ plant growing
system ‘Own Greens’
challenges and opportunities this presents
the fuel retail industry. Rising to the task,
suppliers showcased a range of innovations
to aid the transition to alternative fuels from
Brugg’s new LNG piping, which following
along the theme of customer-centric innovations,
comes ready to plug in, without
needing any welding on site, through to Japanese
fuel dispenser manufacturers, Tatsuno’s
hydrogen dispenser, for which they
have seen increasing demand in China, the
US and Japan in preparation for the 2020
Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The ENTV team also spoke with Stefan
Kunter, CEO of Elaflex who showcased the
company’s suite of alternative fuel nozzles,
designed to dispense a range of fuels including
CNG, LNG and LPG.
In a slightly different take on sustainable
living, one element of the Bever stand that
garnered a huge amount of attention was
‘Own Greens’ - a combination of special
packaging and LED grow lights that allows
anyone to produce their own, clean, healthy

and sustainable greens. Could we soon see
fuel stations growing their own greens to
garnish the sandwiches in their c-stores?
Speaking of food, the food court, which
launched in 2016 was back for 2018, providing
all in attendance with free refreshments.
The caterers also provided a range of street
food options for the evening networking
event from gourmet burgers through to pad
thai and poutine. The evening event provided
the perfect setting to catch-up with
existing connections and network in a more
informal and relaxed setting.
Speaking with suppliers it is clear that
UNITI expo is still ticking all the right boxes.
Many of the people we spoke to cited an increased
number of visitors from outside of
Europe as well as a steady thrum of traffic to
their stands. It will be interesting to see how
the organisers can top this in 2020.
