15-17 May 2018|Stuttgart, Germany
At the time of going to press UNITI expo
was only 19 days away from its third showing
in Stuttgart, Germany. Since its inception
in 2014 the event has gone from strength to
strength, attracting visitors from across the
globe - with the 2018 edition set to be the
biggest one to date.
Like many others in the industry UNITI
expo is an opportunity for the erpecnews
team to catch-up with our friends, advertisers
and supporters from across the industry.
The fuel retail sector is going through exponential
changes in a bid to meet future
business demands. Technology is constantly
evolving, governments have pledged to
support the growth of alternative fuels and
customer expectations are changing all the
time. All of this means that forecourt equipment
suppliers are constantly having to
strive to find innovative solutions to the challenges
the fuel station of tomorrow presents.
Over the last few years we have witnessed
suppliers diversify from their standard business
models. Big Brother, a security company
by trade, is now teaming up with a2i
Systems, a company which uses artificial intelligence
to recognise behavioural patterns
in sales related data, to better understand
Similarly Bever Innovations’ LED solutions
go beyond basic forecourt illumination.
Their EOS technology forms a wireless network
that enables connection between devices
- allowing users to collect data, set up
fixtures and ultimately improve the efficiency
of their forecourt.
Bever’s stand at UNITI expo will feature a
programme of speakers sharing their solutions
and ideas of how the industry can continue
to grow and embrace change.
Dispenser manufacturers are not only
having to face the challenge of dispensing
alternative fuels, they too are looking at ways
to help site operators to drive shop sales.
The latest pumps feature eye-catching advertising
displays that can highlight special
promotions and by using transactional data
can even offer personalised offers.
Customer convenience is also at the forefront
of the latest innovations with several
suppliers offering fast payment solutions
that mean customers who need to quickly
refuel can do so without having to enter the
store. Scheidt & Bachmann recently spoke
to the ENTV team about their new payment
app and WashTec will also be showcasing
their new payment and business development
tool that helps site owners improve
their car wash business by making the process
easier for the end customer.
For those planning to attend the floor plan
